Ww it's been a while since I had a look on here. Roy if you ever come back to read it the tradesman I was complaining about failed to show up regularly. The real estate I was with employed unprofessional tradesman in my opinion. There were no excuses provided, no emergencies and rarely phoned to say they would be late. Thats the experience I am many in AUS have had with tradesman. Sure, they arent all bad but i was having a bad run. I now live in a new place with a new real estate and have had both a plumber and electrician come out. The electrcian was spot on and helpful. The plumber was 30 mins late but a nice man who did a great job so i let the real estate know I was impressed with the service they provided. I understand tradesman have a job to do but they must understand that the majority of people they provide a service to also work and usually take time off work, sometimes unpaid to wait for them to turn up.

Well jenamireal, Even the best layed plans of men and mice can go wrong. You have to realize that a good handyman has hundreds of customers that use his services. Indeed I have been late arriving on a job for all sorts of reasons such as: A long standing customer phones my mobile to say that there is water pouring through a ceiling, All the eletriciy has gone down, Someone has smashed a window, thier home has been burgled Etc.

Lets be fair, If I were on my way to your home to plaster a wall or something and I received a call from a customer with an emergency situation then I would make that call a priority. I would ofcourse telephone you to update you as soon as I could.

Not all handymen or tradesmen are as bad as the one that you have been landed with. I can tell you that I was a whole hour late for an appointment with a customer once. The lady verbally thrashed me for at least ten mins. I explained that as the snow was very bad that I had to leave my transport over two miles away and walk the rest of the way to he home. She told me that she was not responsible for the weather but I was responsible for her being without heating for an hour more!!!

There are far more horrible customers out there than horrible tradesmen.

haha that's true.. the even finer print would have said "daylight hours where this vessel is stored"

They have all different terms for sea, water, ocean, tsunami, king tide, high tide, flood.... It's very bloody confusing! Some are covered, some are not.

OMG During Daylight Hours... he should have fought it and said it was daylight somewhere in the world!

That is ridiculous.

Meanwhile on the radio this morning was an ad for insurance that proclaimed they would protect you in the event of a tsunami, the trailer to the ad said they would not protect you for damage sustained by movement of the sea! WTF is a Tsunami if it isn't movement of the sea!

Reminds me, I have to cancel my private health insurance soon.

That's the worst about renting :( having to wait for someone else to come fix things. We have a downlight that has stopped working and haven't rung anyone yet, better get on that soon I suppose.

And you're right about them comparing you, they shouldn't do that, certainly shouldn't tell you they are doing that, you have no idea what the neighbours lives are like... sheesh. Tell them to STFU and come fix the stuff... that is after all part of the service you are paying a premium for!

Of course you could always pack-up and move to Melbourne, it's lovely down here :D
