Ok, so it’s been a while and the odds are nobody looks on here anymore…  If you have, sorry for the boredom of having no updates.. but then my posts arent usually interesting either )

In the past 7 months.. (yep it’s been that long!!) We have had Alek’s 10th Birthday, Christmas, New Year, Easter and My 29th Birthday.

We have also moved after our townhouse was going to be up for sale. It was a quick decision (probably better that way) but we love the new place, it’s smaller and we had to pass the animals on to my mum but it’s a comfortable place.  Alek has also changed schools and he seems to be doing really well at the new one.

Anyway thats a bit of news for now..

Well we are heading back home tomorrow..  It’s been nice but I am happy to be heading home..

I didn’t manage to see any Dolphins but our trip to the surf beach only lasted a few minutes due to the presence of two sharks.  We thought it might be safer to head over to Jimmys beach. The water was super clear and we could see the sharks coming that way!

We spent a lot of time relaxing, reading, alek was bike reading and we went for a few walks so it was fun!

May not be on for a little while as I may not have access to the internet for a little while.

Today we (Alek Michael and Caitlin) headed down to Jimmys Beach.. a nice calm beach with beautiful water.  The water was too cold but we made a huge sand castle and turtle.. will post pics on facebook…

If Alek does his usual and gets up at 5.30am we are going to Bennetts beach in search of the dolphins!

Alek and I are currently staying at a 3 level holiday home in Hakws Nest with our neighbour and her son and son’s gf.  It’s a very nice place.  I was on a mission to see a Koala (other than a zoo or some other animal park) and a dolphin before we leave on Saturday.  Alek and I set off for a walk to the Koala reserve in search of a real koala living amongst the gum trees.   After a while I thought this may have been one of those local jokes.. you know… watch the tourists walk around, searching the trees for a grey furry animal.. I was a little paranoid that the locals were sitting in their homes and laughing at us when I spotted one.  It was amazing to see.  Unfortunately my camera wouldnt zoom in enough to see him but we stood there watching him for a while.  I was no longer paranoid because if someone queried me we could prove we found one!!  One lady did ask if we found one and also told us about some very large goannas that roam around at night.  We weren’t sticking around to meet these fellas.. 

On the way home from our hour long walk we spotted 8 pelicans, a bloated, very smelly puffer fish and a freaky looking very dead sting ray that had features of a human skull..  I wonder what we’ll see tomorrow..

I’m away at the moment and finally have access to the internet. When I started this weight loss thing I thought I would want to update the world on every 100 grams that I lost.  I think its now been 10 or 12 weeks. I’ve lost 12 kgs and 10cm from my waist and dropped 2 – 3 dress sizes.  I think I have about 10 kgs to go. I guess the strangest part is sometimes I dont feel like I have lost anything, sometimes I feel as though this is all a big game, someone is playing a joke on me. The scales are set up to appear like i’ve lost weight and someone has changed all my clothes for larger ones so it appears I’ve lost weight but that’s a whole other story for another night.

At the end of week 5 i’ve lost 7kgs… Feeling great except now i’m at the frustrating stage where my clothes are not fitting so well anymore.. Anyway got a million other things to write but i should get back to cleaning..

Well I weighed in yesterday… only 900gms this week but it’s still going down.. Total is now 4.3kg.

Weekends are so hard because they just seem to drag on forever and you’re out and about more.. with more temptation.. But I will keep soldiering on!!

I went back to the specialist on Wednesday to check my test results… Yep I ended up paying the $140.. Results were all good!! And doc is happy with me not starting the hormone treatment until an if I need to.. Will see what happens… That visit made me a lot happier..

So then I get home thursday to a bill in the mail for the blood test.. I knew i was getting one but i thought it would be $60. I almost fell on the floor when I opened it.. $230!!! So… will get around to paying that at some point i guess..

Ok… so I was going fine until the specialist office called me this afternoon to confirm my appointment on Wednesday. This visit is purely for test results. I will most likely sit there for 10 mins and it will cost me $140!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s a joke.. I paid $200 (I got back $60 or $70 from Medicare) last Tuesday for an “Initial consultation” when i’ve been seeing him for over a year..

I’m considering asking my GP who should be able to get a copy of the results as I’m not expecting them to be bad… plus I figure they will call if somethings actually wrong wont they??  Then there’s the bill i’ll get in the mail for the blood tests to be done… if my GP had requested these tests and the results it wouldn’t cost me anything… I don’t understand!!!!

In 2005, I had to have an operation as I was very close to having cervical cancer. I was a public patient but got in very quickly as it was urgent. The same specialist that I see now operated on me for free…. My last two operations have cost me in excess of $3000 combined even with health insurance.. In saying that I wouldn’t give up my health insurance because with it i can get into the hopsital straight away if need be. A girl at work is on a 12mth + waiting list to have a similar operation.

Anyway I will probably attend Wednesdays appointment.. just had to whinge about it.

I’ve been on the Tony Ferguson program for 2 weeks.  The first week I lost 1.9kg and the second week I lost 1.5kg. A total of 3.4kg in 2 weeks. I’m pretty pleased with that considering I hadn’t done any exercise. The first week i was so tired I couldn’t do anything.  Yesterday I went for a walk and today I went back to the gym after not going for a few weeks. So I need to get there a few times per week and this should accelerate the weight loss.

I started the program last year or the year before (can’t remember) but I didn’t have the determination that I seem to have this time. I haven’t touched chocolate or coke for that whole time nor do I have the urge to.
