I wrote this one last week during a thinking moment..
The world today scares me… well Australia today scares me.. We’ve always known America was crazy and they do some insane things over there but that’s far, far away but I can turn off the tv and not think about that. But in recent times in Aus we have had drive-by shootings (today into a fish and chip shop) they are becoming a regular occurrence in south west Sydney, people stabbed at weddings, stabbings in schools and there is so much violence when going out on weekends that I prefer to stay at home.

Another issue is our health system. I’ve heard stories from ladies at work who have had daughters and friends miscarry in hospital waiting rooms forced to wait hours to see a doctor, this is no longer something that only happens to random people that you see on the news. This is happening often. Private health insurance used to be something that rich people had to get the cushy rooms and special doctors, now it’s a necessity if you want to feel safe that in the event of an illness or injury you will be covered and you won’t have to go on the waiting list for 12-18 months.

What use is a billion dollar surplus if people are dying in hospital hallways? Not given the right medication or sent home when they are still seriously ill because there are bed and staff shortages?
